Quick Ways to Lose Weight

I would like to tell you that you can lose a lot of weight quickly and be done with it, but it is truly difficult to lose a lot of weight and keep it off  without some sort of health consequence.  I can tell you with confidence that if you cut sugar, high processed and refined food out of your diet, you will experience some definite and quick weight loss in a short amount of time.

If you are trying to lose weight please try and incorporate one or more of the suggestions  daily to initiate these new habits within your current routine, the more you can incorporate the better your chances are to lose weight quickly:

  • Have Breakfast Every Day:
Quite a few people with successful weight loss by shedding  35 or more pounds and kept it off is having breakfast each day. The common misconception that skipping breakfast is a successful method to cut calories, just simply doesn’t work. The average person typically winds up eating more for the duration of the day.  Individuals who have breakfast have lower BMIs than breakfast-skippers and perform better.   Try a bowl of whole-grain cereal topped with fruit and low-fat dairy for a quick and nutritious start to your day.

  • Close the Kitchen at Night.
Choose a time when you will have your last meal or snack and shut down the kitchen, so you will not give in to the late-night munchies or mindless snacking while watching television.   Have a cup of tea suck on a piece of hard candy or enjoy a small bowl of  frozen yogurt if you want something sweat after dinner. Then
brush your teeth, so you will be less likely to eat or drink anything else

  • Choose Liquid Calories Wisely. Sweetened drinks can pile on the calories, but rarely reduce hunger as much as eating food does.   Optimally, satisfy your thirst with water, sparkling water with citrus, skim or low-fat milk, or small portions of 100% fruit juice. Try a glass of nutritious and low-calorie vegetable juice to hold you over if you get hungry between meals.  Be careful of alcohol calories, which can add up quickly. If you tend to drink a glass or two of wine or cocktail on most days, limiting alcohol to the weekends can be a huge calorie saver.

  • Eat More Produce.
Eat as much as you can of low-calorie, high-volume fruits such as berries, melons and citrus varieties.  High volume vegetables would include broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and asparagus. Both high volume fruit and vegetables crowd out other foods that are higher in fat and calories. Move the meat off the center of your plate and pile on the vegetables. Alternatively, try starting lunch or dinner with a vegetable salad or bowl of broth-based soup.  Stock your kitchen with plenty of fruits and vegetables and at every meal and snack, include a few servings.  If you incorporate more fruit and vegetables into your daily diet, it will be enriched with vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, fiber.   By filling up  on super-nutritious produce, you won’t be reaching for refined carbohydrates and foods made with high sugar content.

  • Go for the Grain.
Substitute whole grains instead of refined grains like white bread, cakes, cookies, and pretzels; you add much-needed fiber and will fill up faster, so you are more likely to eat a reasonable portion. Choose whole-wheat loaves of bread and plates of pasta, brown rice, quinoa, bran flakes, popcorn, and whole-rye crackers.

  • Physical Exercise:
Exercise plays a pivotal role to lose weight.
Start some sort of physical exercise as brief regular exercise is essential if you have a plan to shed extra pounds.

We live in a very visual time where appearance has become the focal point in everyone’s lives.  While it may be something you can try to ignore, it is hard to do so unless you desire or plan on becoming a social hermit.  However, being obsessed with your weight can cause self esteem issues and in some extreme cases can become a trigger for several eating disorders.  If you feel as though your thoughts about feeding your body are bordering on the extreme, I urge you to talk to a professional or find a support group to help you get back to a healthy place.
